Forsake me not Lord while I slip
I feel your arm slipping but not really
Catch me Lord, lest I perish
Snatch me Lord, lest I slip

Lord hold me, draw me close
let me feel your loving presence once more
in my laziness I slipped
not so much but just enough

Save me O Lord
let not the daftness of my humanity
take oer my salvation and throw me on the wayside
save me O Lord, I love you
I depend on you O Lord, solely

Then He took the cup

THEN HE TOOK THE CUP, AND WHEN HE HAD GIVEN THANKS HE GAVE IT TO THEM, AND THEY ALL DRANK FROM IT Mark 14 vs 23

What really is going on here that I understand in my spirit?

Is this really a prediction of what has happened, what will happen soon and what is to come?

Lets break this down
THEN HE TOOK THE CUP

Jesus took the cup, this cup has  meaning. Death, suffering, betrayal, cross, it is a huge burden to

bear. Jesus took the cup, the cup he came to this world to drink and the blood he came to shed that

we may have life.

Jesus took the cup, He took upon himself our transgressions. Do you know that Jesus' blood took

away our sins.

Leviticus 17 vs 11

King James version...FOR THE LIFE OF THE FLESH IS IN THE BLOOD, AND I HAVE GIVEN IT TO YOU UPON THE ALTAR TO MAKE ATONEMENT FOR YOUR SOULS; FOR IT IS THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL

New International version...FOR THE LIFE OF A CREATURE IS IN THE BLOOD, AND I HAVE GIVEN IT TO YOU TO MAKE ATONEMENT FOR YOURSELVES ON THE ALTAR; IT IS THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR ONES LIFE

Todays English Version...THE LIFE OF EVERY LIVING THING IS IN THE BLOOD, AND THAT IS WHY THE LORD HAS COMMANDED THAT ALL BLOOD BE POURED OUT ON THE ALTAR TO TAKE AWAY THE PEOPLE'S SINS. BLOOD, WHICH IS LIFE, TAKES AWAY SINS

Jesus took the challenge, the task of atoning for our sins. Jesus took the cup.

Jesus took upon himself, the cup. Then He took the cup

AND WHEN HE HAD GIVEN THANKS

After Jesus had taken the cup, when He was dying of the cup. He gave thanks...

Lets go back to pre-english translation of the bible here

euxaristéō (from 2095 /eú, "good" and 5485/xaris, "grace") – properly, acknowledging that "God's grace works well," i.e. for our eternal gain and His glory; to give thanks – literally, "thankful for God's good grace."

He took the responsibility and when he had acknowledged that Gods grace works well for our eternal

gain and Gods glory through shedding of His blood

thank, thanks, thanks-giv'-ing, thanks'-giv-ing: Both the verb and the nouns appear almost uniformly for yadhah, and eucharisteo, and their cognates. Eucharisteo is the usual Greek verb for "to thank," but yadhah takes on this force only through its context and is rather a synonym for "raise" or "bless"

praz (tehillah, "psalm," "praise," todhah, "confession" "thanksgiving," shabhach, "to praise" "glorify," zamar, yadhah, "to stretch out the hand," "confess"; aineo, epaineo, (epainos):

1. Its Meaning:

The word comes from the Latin pretium, "price," or "value," and may be defined generally as an ascription of value or worth. Praise may be bestowed upon unworthy objects or from improper motives, but true praise consists in a sincere acknowledgment of a real conviction of worth.

He took the responsibility and when he had acknowledged that Gods grace works well for our eternal gain and Gods glory through shedding of His blood, he rose again after paying the price for our redemption.

HE GAVE IT TO THEM

He gave them the responsibility of continuing His works and of sharing the good news He came to bring.
He gave it to them, the cup... their cross, their mission and thier instruction

AND THEY ALL DRANK FROM IT

And they all drank from it
The works of the Apostles, the acts of the Apostles and the building of the Church
The persecutions for the sake of Jesus
The sake of Jesus because of the cup Jesus drank for us that he gave to them after giving praise and thanks, yadhah

God is good, gracious and merciful all the time

God sent his only begotten son to save the Jews, they rejected him and then the Gentiles got salvation instead. What an opportunity, what a merciful.. second chance giving God.
